Elaichi dena!

Yesterday , I was at the grocery shop to buy a few items.
There were two attendants/shop-keeper's  to attend to us customers,  Shop - keeper 1  and Shop-keeper 2.

Enter a fifteen year old teenager. Excitedly , he asked Shop - keeper 1 , "Uncle , 'Elaichi dena'  in crisp Hindi. (Elaichi for those of you who may not know ,  is the Hindi ( a local Indian languge ) word for Green Cardamom.). Hearing that Shop-keeper 2 was very prompt in retrieving the packet of elaichi! A small packet of polythene , filled with fresh green elaichi.

On seeing the small packet filled with green cardamom , the boy exclaimed , "Ye nahi bhaiyya , uncle ko pata hai kya chahiye!", referring to Shop - keeper 1.

Uncle (Shopkeeper 1 ) 'very' confidently returned with some processed - elaichi , which to us looked like a flattened chocolate , or some kind of tobacco , take your pick!

A sheepish grin broke across Shop Keeper 2's face , while the rest of us had a good hearty laugh!
